what have i learned so far..

ok.. so i have been in singapore for around 2 and a half months.. i have discovered numerous interesting things that i would say is worth mentioning..

1. NTU students(or is it just malaysian ntu students??mmm..) "baptize" their frens every year on their birthday..sounds random huh.. wat i mean is dat they will dunk the birthday boy/gal into a pool of water..(no not swiming pool..keep on imagining..)and den da frens will follow n jump into da pool of water(may it be da lake or da fountain or wateva tat takungs water)..weeee...everyone gets wet in da middle of da nite screaming and shouting...

2. People in NTU jog. Nothing special u say.. wellll... they can jog at the weirdest hour of da day.. any time, u name it there will be some health conscious human being sweating like a sponge leaking water with earphones plugged in running around ntu. no joke. it can be 3 am or 5 am or 3 pm(when da sun is SOO shiny it blinds ur eyes).. there will be ppl jogging.

3.they call roti canai here as roti prata..and roti prata cheese dat is da size of half a a4 paper costs more than a bowl of mee(in ntu la).hence to me at least, prata is a luxury food here..

4.I learn new slangish words like ex(meaning expensive),on(synonym to enthu(meaning enthusiastic)) and many many more..

5. People rather study at some isolated bench in da academic complex rather than in da comfort of their room. Some even sleep over in da tutorial rooms to study(i wonder who their roomies are..count dracula??godzilla??three pigs and the wolf?? flying duck??)

6. You will get addicted to food that normally appeals to a child in ur 'normal' life in your hometown..(or mebbe this just applies to me la..)..I am currently 'high' on rocky chocolate sticks, hello panda and raisins..muahaha..

7. When u order wan tan mee.. u have to say "no chili or tomato pls" if u dun wan ur wantan mee to be bathed in tomato ketchup or chili sauce.

8. Night cycling is consider an activity of leisure.(until now i oso dunno y) And mind you they normally cycle from one end of singapore to the other end of it(and for the ignorant, singapore is NOT tat small!! )They cycle the WHOLE night ok..

9.The distance between places in Singapore is measured by travelling time. Never really did tat in KL cos ppl mostly drive everywhere while its all public transport here in Singapore. So u may just live a "15 minute bus ride then 1 hour mrt ride and finally 30 minutes bus ride" away from ntu..

10. I cannot wait to earn Sing Dollar cos then shopping will be HEAVENLY in Malaysia!! and even in Singapore.. on the other hand it is impossible to shop here in Singapore unless u dun convert and imagine ur Singaporean.(which i am still incapable of doing.. i need more training i guess?)

11. Its super open minded here in Singapore which i found a lil difficult to get initially cos of my super conventional plus old fashioned plus traditional plus close minded plus ...(dun wanna say nanti go isa i die.. how to earn sing dollar in isa le?) environment in Malaysia.. Example : They dun mind screening Harold and Kumar for block activity in hall in a full top to bottom glass walled tv room by projecting it on da wall..(read : nudity scenes that can be seen from everywhere since it IS a transparent room).. They also dun mind pasting topics that reads TALK COCK on da notice board where everyone can see.. ( I wonder what are the consequences if da above actions were done in local unis in Malaysia?? Expel you? Public humilition by public canning??(ok that wan a lil over la..)) I wonder..

That kinda sums up my social education here in Singapore..Academically, I learn about fantasy worlds and subfantasy worlds for MATHS (NO JOKE!!-refer to discrete mathematics with applications third edition by susanna s.ep page 271)..
